Well, everyone on Earth is going to hate me for this, but I didn't like Dark Knight.
It was seemingly eight hours of a villain - no wait! have another villain! - with a stupid premise - he's crazy! cause he's just so crazy! - a story I thought was ending five separate times, which was held together by explosions and poor attempts at excitement/humor/drama/everything, and a weak ending - he's a hero! because he's not a hero! he's good! but he has to be evil to be good! - when all I wanted was for Batman to clear his fucking throat already. My, how edgy and groundbreaking. I should've stayed home and watched baseball.
Honestly, as much as I LOVED the movie and Batman in general, it's refreshing to see your take. I'd take that over seeing the hundreds of people who suddenly jumped on the Batman fan-wagon simply because Heath Ledger died.
Dead Heath Ledger's baby sadfaces at youuuuuu. Sorry, I'll stop being an asshole, I swear I'm not trying to go pro.
I'm holding out for the DVD, which means I'm dreading talking to people for the next forever and ever. Thank you for providing me with the space to say so.
I concur that it's kinda nice to see a negative review. I've seen a couple, but not many. I personally enjoyed it, but there's this general squeeeeeee about the movie that's getting a bit much and it's hard to be a fan of the movie yet separate from that scary bandwagon.
Hee! I just posed a negative review as well. I told my husband as we were driving home that this is definitely not a movie for anyone that likes to over think their movies. The plot was just a big pile of dumb, they killed the ONLY fucking chick in the movie (I'm not counting the corrupt cop - you knew she was corrupt from like the first five minutes...) It wasn't any worse than any other blow-shit-up action flick, but it really doesn't deserve half of the attention and praise it's getting. And it wouldn't be getting it if it weren't for Heath.
I do think Heath did a kickass job as the Joker. I had to cover my eyes a couple of times because he was freaking my ass out. LOL.
I thought that the movie was full of interesting ideas but the pacing of the storytelling sucked so many balls so hard. They didn't give anything room to breathe! It was just a non-stop thrill-ride of LOOK HOW AWESOME WE ARE! DO YOU SEE IT YET? COME ON, I KNOW YOU CAN SEE IT.
i respect your opinion, and i actually agree with you on some points (THAT MOVIE WAS SOOO LONG AND SOOO SKETCHILY PUT TOGETHER), but i think the reason i loved it so much was because heath ledger is so. fucking. amazing. no one could do the joker like he did. *sigh*
and ohmygod, YOU TOO? I JUST WANTED BATMAN TO TALK NORMALLY HE SOUNDED LIKE SOMEONE PUNCHED HIM IN THE THROAT OR SOMETHING. :DDD
in conclusion, ♥ for you, ♥ for heath ledger, ♥ for everyone on the internet. ^^
Yeah, you know. I liked the Joker. And that was about it. But goddamn. The Joker. He was always my favorite villain as a kid, and I think Heath Ledger did a fantastic job. I was indifferent to his death, but now I'm sad that there can't be a sequel with him in it.
I give props to the Batvoice. At least this movie series shows how Bruce Wayne goes about not being really fucking obvious.
